Downtown Detroit is an interesting place. As usual in Detroit,
there's plenty of abandoned structures and suspicious places,
but there's a certain majesty in many of the old buildings, as
if to defy anyone who would say that Detroit is an ugly city.
I generally take my Detroit photos on weekend mornings, when the
city is fairly quiet and the light is good. I'll just park somewhere
random and start walking, usually for two or three hours, consuming
3-5 rolls of film. Some days are good, some not, but that's true
no matter where to choose to shoot.
